Why Insulate?

Insulation is closely linked to heating. Heating is expensive to produce and good insulation helps retain this heat.

It follows that a well insulated building will have lower energy costs than a poorly insulated one.

Optimal insulation also produces more comfortable and healthier working conditions.

Insulation can cover any or all of the following:

  • Walls – External Wall Insulation (EWI) or Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) or cavity wall insulation
  • Insulation above suspended ceilings and in roof voids and the roof itself
  • Doors and glazing
  • Insulation to pipes in plant rooms.

If a building is being renovated or refurbished, or new suspended ceilings are being fitted- this is often an opportune moment to insulate simultaneously.

How do we perform this service?

Insulation is a key section that is covered in our Energy Audit Service for your building. Our surveyors will look at how well insulated your building is. They will also look at this information and see how it relates to how you heat the building. Recommendations are then made for insulation as part of your Energy Savings Report and these are discussed with you.

Knock down one of the biggest energy cost for commercial buildings

Insulation creates better heat retention, meaning the heat created is maintained for longer and puts less pressure on your heating system.

Healthier and more comfortable working conditions, not only reduce costs but improve comfort levels, moral and efficiency of staff.

Insulation combined with good airflow and ventilation helps to prevent the likelihood of damp conditions and black mould developing.

Insulation can often transform older buildings and make them more attractive to operate.

Insulation improves the commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of your property and thus increase rental income revenues or capital revenue.
